FINAL
Throughout the semester I had many difficulties being present that affecting my work and how it was presented. I feel like the hardest thing I did this semester was work with photoshop, mainly because I dislike it but as well as because personally it was complicated and often messed up. I could have done a lot better this semester with showing up and as well as putting more effort into my work. Though I feel like I had lots of growth from the beginning of the year till now. On the left there's a picture from the middle of year and clearly there is no focus point, or any composition factors to benefit the photo, and the flash makes it look tacky. Yet on the right theres a huge improvement. There is composition shown, like contrast, off center, light in the eyes, and I feel like overall it's a strong photo.
FINAL PROJECT
PHOTO COLLAGE WAS DONE ON PAPER
Artist Statement : This project was actually very confusing and difficult for me just because i was really in class to know whats going on. Though I may have not done the project correctly or the way it was actually supposed to go, I did try to make my work seem sort of abstract or what i thought of as a photo collage. I found this project confusing because I didn't know exactly how to make a proper photo montage so i kind of just went for it but i should have found another way to get help with this project. But overall, i mean the only success was selecting the photo but i feel like it went better than expected since i didn't know what i was doing exactly.
PHOTO COLLAGE
MAGAZINE COVER
Artist statement: This project was a very interesting project. I mean this in the best possible way but this project was one of my least favorites. I found it challenging throughout the process because photoshop was acting up as well as I had to restart my project multiple times so this whole cover was sort of last minute sadly. What I did find successful were adding titles and sub titles to my magazine cover, and finding sayings or phrases that might capture the viewers attention in a fashion magazine. Overall this project might have been difficult and stressful but it came it out so much better than expected.
FACES OF GW
CONTACT SHEET
Artist statement: Throughout this project I learned to look underneath the surface of peoples personalities and looks. I found that a story goes a long way. Before this project I saw these people in the hallways and I wouldn’t think twice about speaking to them or none the less finding out what they’re passions were or who they were as a person. It’s amazing how much detail you can get from a person by having 5 to 10 minute conversations with them. I really enjoyed this project because in my mindset I was photographing the future. It may sound cliche but these teenagers are the tomorrow and to hear their stories and aspirations really inspired me throughout this project. I found it successful capturing light in people’s eyes. Though I found it difficult when cropping pictures so that other factors won’t be distracting in the portraits.
PHOTO-JOURNALISM
CONTACT SHEET
Artist Statement: I actually had a lot of fun documenting the Women's March in downtown Denver. This project was supposed to be about standing up for the social issues that are important to you. I stood up for both women's rights and immigration rights while marching downtown in the cold weather. I thought it was important for me to stand up for immigration rights since i come from a family of immigrants, I also thought it was important to march for women's right since i am a girl. Success's of this project was the lighting around me suited well with my images, and it was easier to find subject matter for my images. Difficulties I had were the angles of the photograph I was very short to see what was going on around me so that was difficult , as well as trying to incorporate the rules of composition into my photographs while being in a huge crowd of people.
MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY
CONTACT SHEET
Artist Statement: Without a doubt I would have to say this project was difficult for me personally. For one, when using the digital camera it had a more successful outcome but I didn't end up saving these picture so my final product wasn't the best. I used my phone to photograph these images and to when trying to photograph up closely it was hard to focus the camera on my phone as well as the lighting around me was very bad and dim so my object wasn't clear without the flash. I feel like i could have totally done so much better on this project if i would have used a different camera and better lighting and focused on my subject a little bit more. It was kinda of difficult finding a subject to focus on because my camera couldn't focus on any object, so I figured it's most common to photograph flowers for macrophotography but we're in the middle of winter so i decided to go with a plant i had at home. Overall though it was interesting and somewhat fun to make the smallest of objects in way come to life and make them seem bigger than they are.
LIGHT PAINTING

This project was somewhat difficult as it came to light exposure. Yet I learned a lot about aperture, and shutter speed. It helped me improve my skills when using different lighting and creating life with shutter speed. I actually had so much fun working on this project because who knew light drawing was so fun, and our 'bloopers' of our photos were to die for. We had trouble getting perfect outlines for our light paintings but personally I put so much effort into these photos, I had to retake and retake these photographers multiple times. The process was very stressful and overwheleming but at the end of the day it was worth it. I am satisfatied with my results because I know that personally I worked hard on this project. I like how I now know how to work with my shutter speed unlike at the begining of the year I had no clue what shutter speed meant and how it affected my photos and now I know exactly what to do. I enjoyed the process of this project because not only did it teach me how to incoperate my photography skills but it taught me patience, and I really mean that. This project took so much patience that I did not know I had. Overall, I really found this project fun and helpful.
TIME & MOTION
DARK LIGHT
BRIGHT LIGHT
Artist Statement: I found this project very difficult and found it to be a low success project. I am saying this because capturing time and motion in one is very difficult task to manage. I tried to maintain a theme of city street scenes and abstracts in society as I blurred all the chaos of a busy everyday life. I tried to vary in my style of work by changing angles and focusing on different subjects yet it focused on the mainstream life outside the walls of buildings. I found it a difficult task to manage with this project just because it was difficult for me to set up a snapshot and especially panning, i couldn't accurately focus on the correct subject or the whole picture in general was blurry. The whole freeze frame part of the project was fairly difficult. Yet although it was hard it taught me to have patience with my photographs as well as to focus on the shutter speed more to create more visual effects.

TOYS COMES TO LIFE 2016
During this project I found it very difficult to scale my toy and make it seem as if she in a real life scenario. I decided to place my Barbie doll in a pile of leaves and make it seem as she is throwing leaves up in the air as she escapes her plastic dream life. I found it difficult when scaling as my Barbie was way to small for the world, yet i found it fairly simple creating a scenario in which seems unique. The project was very fun I just would have improved on scaling a bit better.

Artist Statement
During this project I found it very difficult to complete a small task of capturing the essence of an egg. I really enjoyed capturing photos in which an egg portrayed a personality or emotion in a way. Strangely I did I find it difficult when taking care of the egg. Throughout the process I went through five eggs, all in which ended up in pieces with nothing but yolk oozing out. I took around 50 photos trying to capture the accurate lighting, angles, and possibly depth of field. My sublime egg photo portrays a very sophisticated and it seems to be one with nature. I chose to put my egg out there in the world nature to capture the pure color of white mixed with that changing colors and bright atmosphere. One the other hand my creative eggs promote a halloween and Dia de los Muertos theme. I chose to do this as my creative egg theme since both holidays are coming up and I want to create a spooky feeling. This experience was very fun and yet very hard I enjoyed the challenge.

COMPOSITION PROJECT 2016
|
During this project in which I captured the art of composition I've never felt more intrigued with the action of taking a photograph. I took multiple pictures about 57 during the process of choosing the 'perfect' ones to represent composition. During this project I practiced methods and angles in which I take photos... personally I found this project a bit difficult. My theme was nature and it was a bit difficult fitting all the elements of composition into landscape, yet I tried my best. This experience was very fun and I gained much knowledge with the click of a button when taking these photographs. Although, I did face some obstacles like lighting, wind, and other aspects I found it very satisfying when seeing the finished product and growth of my pictures from before and now. I've made a huge improvement while using composition and that is very satisfying.

Scavenger Hunt 2016
Process Statement:
During this scavenger hunt my goal was discover George's faces and objects. I did this by taking walks around George and taking photographs of different objects and people in school. This experience was very fun I got to discover new areas of George and focus on the little things I had never actually payed attention to. This experience was really new, and exiting . I learned how to focus the camera and take a photo with a blurry background. The challenging part of this whole thing is finding items that really convey emotion and narrative at George at eight am. Although, through obstacles we successfully took great pictures with focus points for our first time with a camera. I feel like I have made a huge improvement from not focusing my pictures or putting effort not emotion to actually caring about the outcome.
